Shark RSJ helmet review

Those of you who have been out with me know I am partial to an open face helmet.....I take the gamble of a chin wipe out for better visibility and an altogether friendlier (or angrier) look out to the world. I started with a Lidl special just to see how I got on and moved onto a HJC IS once I knew I liked riding with an open face. I like a full face visor and the HJC had a integral sun visor. Pretty good helmet for a bargain £40 at the time (list about £100). My last trip to Swindon mega motorcycle store a few months back led me to buy a Shark RSJ for £99 (down from over £200). A cosy quality fit along with a thick high quality visor and interior on inspection meant the wallet had to come out! Again it is an open face full face visor with a sun visor built in. My glasses fit well and do not catch the sun visor when down. A great feature is a little hook which locks the visor down at speed which stops it flipping up if you turn your head at speed (the HJC did this occasionally). The finish is much better than the HJC (which was OK). Wind noise is always an issue on this type of helmet at speed but is OK with earplugs in and bearable on the couple of trips up country I've done. All up very pleased. Works well on my 30 mile daily commute. Never as quiet or offer the protection of a full face (I have a BMW ff) but when I stick the full face on now I get claustraphobic! Just checked the website and they are still doing them for £99 in some dodgy colours

Thanks for the Shark report. I'm an open face fan too Tone, currently I'm using an HJC IS 33 (£40 delivered from Blackpool Honda). No complaints at all. I hardly ever wear my full face lid anymore.
