Sold: Honda CBR600F Sport

Selling on behalf of my son who is now in Australia to fund further travels.

This was his pride and joy. It is a 2001 model year (Y reg) Honda CBR600F Sport in red and black. 27,000 miles. Looking for around £1,950.00

It's been in store since October 2014 so is SORN and currently without an mot - but will pass when I take it to the local workshop. I started it for the first time in a year yesterday and it was more or less on the button and after digging it out the back of the garage rode it up and down the road today. All is fine.

It has the following extras: alarm, puig rear hugger, dark tinted screen, stainless exhaust system and quill can, after-market adjustable clutch and brake levers, and (I think) a hagon rear shock. Workshop manual on DVD, and a collection of papers documenting a somewhat patchy history. My son bought it in 2012 with the guy he bought it from having owned it since 2007, but before that it seems to have had 4 owners. My son has had an annual service while he owned it and like most Hondas has been faultless in his ownership - he put 10,000 miles on it. The rear tyre is looking a bit thin; if it fails the mot on this I will get a replacement but otherwise it's got less than 1000miles to go on it. Brakes etc look to be fine but it has been stood nearly 18months so a fluids change service would be advisable before doing anything other than local running about.

From 5 yards it looks great but close up will reveal a small ding in the tank (right top), scrapes on the left side engine case , and scratches on the right side fairing - all the previous owners and associated marks on mirrors and indicators. They look like static or low speed drops rather than anything more dramatic. Overall though it looks, sounds, and goes great. (150mph+ I am assured).

Can be viewed more or less anytime but I probably won't mot it until I have an interested buyer so they get the full benefit.

Durrr, should say CBR600F Sport. How do I change the header?

You ask nicely, and a Mod does it for you. ;)

Good luck with the sale.

]Now with 12months mot from today, a new rear tyre and a set of front brake pads. Open to sensible offers (£1500 will not buy it).

Exactly the same as my first big bike, can't recommend them enough.

I reckon I could have done given the interest on eBay. I thought it was priced fair but the guy who bought thought he was getting a bargain. Anyway it sold for 150 more than my son bought it for in 2012. So a good result.
