I was working at the Selkirk Rally at the weekend and took a few pics. :)

A couple of nice trucks.

Little and large steam.

Tractors.

The obligatory Grey Fergie.

Nice modded Moggie pickup.

American muscle.

American beauty.

Two of the oldest cars on the field.

Also some military stuff, made a bolx of the Fox pic, but you can't win them all.

A bevy of Landys.

Lovely Dino.

Custom built Escort, well, it looks like an Escort but it is built on a Sierra floorpan, 2500cc V6 engine. Took the guy 3 years and 3000 hours to build.

The sticker on the door says this car is 40 years old today.

All I can say about this is............WTF, or perhaps why?

I really don't know if you will be interested, but there were a few bikes as well. ;)

And you don't see one of these too often.

Andy.

Some nice photos there, Andy.

Is that a foldable scooter I see behind that little MV two-stroke?

On a more serious note Andy. Did they offer to have you back next year as an exhibit ? :idea-013:

They did Nick, but I declined as I did not want to upset things as some of those machines are nearly as old as me! ;) :D

Great pics there. I saw one of those 'obligatory Fergies' on the road the other day. Something captivating about their simplicity. Hey mods - Think we need a tractor smilie on here!

Yay, used to have a TEA20 which was the first model of the TE series (Tracotor of England, export models were TO), originally ran petrol only but many had a TVO conversion (cheaper). Used to smell lovely running on that :)

A testament to their original design, materials & build quality that so many are still quite literally working today.
Don't think I'd want to do regular 15hr days on one mind!

Must dig out a pic!

Phil,

There's a guy next to us at Ardgour rebuilding a fergie from bottom up, complete restore, I'll try and get some photos next week. His mate in the next croft has 8 fergies :cool2: all in varying stages of re build :respect:

We call them "Grålle" here in Sweden, (Grålle = "Grå" is Grey and ålle is from the affectionate name for horse "Pålle").
I think I've heard that the grey paint was surplus paint from WW2 Spitfires?

And as promised Philip

All in various stages. The front end is at the other end of the garage.
She's a ' 52 Fergie diesel. His mate, the crofter has just acquired a '42 petrol/paraffin. They have challenged each as to who will finish first, then they are going to have a race " up the main street  "

The '52 Fergie was hardly used, last time in anger by another crofter who lost his licence in Ft William. He used the tractor to get himself back and fore to the pub through the fields :cool2: :D
