Always the same problem, main roads ok - ish. Trying to get turned in a lay by of sheet ice is tricky.
Tried it many times up here in a car, never mind a bike. 10/10 for effort

Nice one Nick. We have just had about a week of a heatwave here - a nice sunny warm 16+c with dry roads. Gone back to normal drizzly shite now though.

How do you wash all the salt off without ending up with a sheet of ice outside the house?

Surely you know me better than that Austin? Wash? What's that? They stay crusty until Spring (and probably Summer too). But yes - my driveway is a sheet of ice and we were -18c this morning with a couple of inches of fresh snow............
