To say 2025 has been somewhat challenging is a bit of an understatement.

We've had to say final farewells to 6 friends & family between Jan to June, we were hoping for a bit of an upturn for the second half of the year but that was not to be the case...

V has been a bit under par, progressively getting worse as the months rolled by, early results looked good but as things progressed, she was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer which is 'quite advanced' and has spread to multiple places.
V is recovering (not great TBH) from an operation recently (symptoms of, not removal of the cancer).
She's lost 3 stone the last 6 weeks or so, barely eating and starting to look frail.

We've told the children as much as we know (to be fair, they know things are not right) and answered any questions as brutally honestly as possible, upset at first but seemingly bounced back ok.

As we throw our lives to the hands of medical science, who knows what the next few months hold.
Chemo starts next Friday.

I cannot put into words what I'm feeling having read your post Phil.

Take care of yourselves and each other.

Steve

Ah sit, that’s awful. Been through it myself this last 18 months but we’re now seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
We’re on the lucky ones.
All I can say is keep smiling.
If you need a chat I’m here. Love to V

Jeez, Phil, that’s terrible for you all to have to cope with. No proper words and I feel quite emotional right now. It’s going to be tough time going through chemo and everything that goes with it so get all the help you can from the professionals and your friends - us included. Firm hugs to you all and an extra long one for V from me.

As above Phil, I am finding it extremely difficult to put into words what I feel right now, god know how you and your family must be feeling. Difficult times ahead but I am sure the medics will do everything in their power. Thinking of you all.

Thanks guys, tbh, it's not the chemo that is the scary part, it's the de-bulking surgery in the middle of it, it all sounds pretty horrific.
We stopped reading when part way through what is involved.

Still, at least treatment is being offered and with that, brings hope.

Oh Phil I am so very sorry to hear this. Sending love to you all. I know this sounds mad, but if there's anything I can do to help then please let me know.
