What bike to get next.

Can you still get the Kwak 650 wotsit? I hired one on holiday, tenerife IIRC, and preferred it to my old v-strom 650. Parallel twin with 17" front wheel IIRC so turns in very nicely, but was very confidence-inspiring on bumpy lanes and fun for hooning around. Can't remember tank size, but I'd guess good tank range.

My AT always gets to 210 before I start clenching and it gives a nice gallons left number on the dash on reserve.

You won't fecking belive it.
Went to Dundee for a test ride.
I got there, and there was a before 2022 model, adventure dct. So I took that for a test ride, brilliant, lots of good points, improved dct, road handling, to start with. Just perfect.
Great, so I went to chat money, he gave good price for my one in part exchange.
Starting to get excited.
Now try and find a new 2022 africa twin adventure without the electric suspension.
None, zilch, feck all.
I asked when will they get new ones in, he didn't think they were doing any more adventure ones without the elec suspension.
I don't want electric suspension, I want to set it up myself, and I sure as f÷=/ don't want to pay an extra £1800 for something I don't want.
Find great bike, can't buy it.
Pissed? You bet I am.

Cider tonight.

Tried a yamaha tenere with the twin fuel tanks.
Certainly handled well, but pretty harsh suspension. Bit sore this morning.
It is very tall and would need lowering kit.

Prices are aprox

Poped in bmw as well
Gs1250 with most of the goodies is 17.5 k
Gs 850 with the same is 14k

For comparison
Africa twin adventure non dct es 16.x k
With dct 17.3k

Trouble is, they have run put of demonstrators, people are buying them. Looks like a common theme, except the yamaha dealer, who has one in most flavours.

Ok, so it was a case of
"Read the hand book"
with the africa twin.
I misunderstood what was going on, and the cost differential.
So back on the list again.

14k, 16k, 17.5k [emoji849] REALLY! WTF is going on in the world, it's gone mad!
Who in their right mind would pay that for a fekkin motorbike [emoji33] I know, I know plenty but still!
Ok I might be a smidge out of touch but not THAT out of touch!
Last I saw, you could get a bloody good bike for, what, 8k? now, a butt ugly one costs 17.5!

I'll be sticking to the1200 quid snotters. Fek 'em, I could have fifteen for the price of one piece of overrated crap from Germany (or is it China now(?) [emoji106]

So if the loan is 5.9% and inflation is currently 9%, they are paying me to take out a loan.

Rick, buy with your heart not your head. Paralysis by analysis and all that, plus you’ll end up with a bike that ticks all your boxes except the one that really matters: you simply want to own it.

Well I did

I rode it and loved it.....
There is a box on its way.

Bugger all point in doing a tick tock, [emoji1787]

Going for soft panniers this time.

I could end the thread with a pic, or I could go on with the farkling.[emoji1787]
