A Picture a Day

Gotta love a bit of purple

GS-hei-2023.jpg

Had to turn up the saturation a bit as for some reason purple completely disappears from a standard photo, but oh well.

And I love that this sort of road still exists. Absolutely shite to drive over, but look at it.

Superb :thumbsupanim:

reminds me of the Pave roads I rode in Northen France last year

Yeah every time I ride the CB-1 I get home with a backache, because my mind keeps going to shitty bumpy roads and it's got sportbike suspension travel.

The GS soaks it up though... :)

Are they closing the old bridge? Always weary on approach to it looking for oncoming vehicles that are oblivious to the blind summit on it.

LWR invited all and sundry to a short notice, short stay ADV Scotland weekend of camping at the Big Sands site near Gairloch.

Here are a few photos from meself . . .

Sunset on the Friday evening . . . surprised there wasn’t a huge hiss as the sun disappeared under the sea

Following day we set out on a little 300 mile loop. This is the view across to Skye as we head into Gairloch from the camp site . . .

The view, spoilt by a bike in the way, from Knockan Crag . . .

And as we start to head south towards Altnaharra from Tongue, the clouds start to roll in

Several refreshment stops on route – Cocoa Mountain at Durness , The Pier in Lairg and finally the Chinese takeaway in Gairloch.

Cracking weekend – thanks for the shout Craig – with great weather on Saturday, followed by challenging weather Saturday night / Sunday morning

Gotta be at least a 750mile weekend for me, whilst Craig can add the journey from and to Aberdeen onto that total.

Went for a “mind de-fogging” ride this morning. Wyndy way to Grantown, then Tomintoul, over the Lecht, through Strathdon and back via the Cabrach.

Only a few photo’s:-

The old Poldullie bridge at Bellabeg

Killdrummy castle is visible from the road side now that they have cut down all the beech hedge

And Auchindoun castle, just outside Dufftown

120 miles and the space between my ears fully “de-fogged” :respect13:
