Galloway Forest Park 27th September 2014

This will be the 5th running of the ride through the Galloway Forest Park on the forestry trails. Expect around 75miles of off road riding on mostly easy forestry tracks. Expect spectacular views and the opportunity to ride your bike in the remote heart of the forest where you would never normally get to and will include a ride to the top of Bennan Hill which is just short of 2000feet high.

I do need to email the foresty commission but unless their policy has changed I cant why it shouldnt be going ahead. There is a charge which depends on how many people come but it has been £10 each for the last 4 events.

If I change campsite I will look for somewhere that does camping and a bunk house.

More details to follow when I get my act together.

Seeing as the rest of them are ignoring this thread, I thought I'd append my name to the head of the list . . . . . .

I'm in :thumbsupanim:

But you knew that, didn't you? :D

Looks like I'll be up for this - it's after the BMF Tailend and I'll deserve a break.

Thanks for the replies all. I am waiting to hear back from the forestry people. I emailed them at the weekend and got an out office reply saying that due to staff changes it would take a while to respond. I will give them a ring in a day or two.

I have been thinking about the campsite and despite last years cock up at the activity centre I still think its the best place to go. It has all the right facilities as well as some basic food, plus its saves me a recce trip to check out anywhere else, although that's my loss as I like doing all that stuff.

Anyway will keep you posted when I get some news.

sorry forgot
back to the original question
The trails are easy, no problem on little tanks. Lots of people to help taking pics if you drop it :D

If that's the case I'm in. You've inadvertently volunteered yourself to pick up my bike when it goes over. In the spirit of your sacrifice I also expect you to remove parts from your bike to replace my broken parts :thumbsupanim:

You have no chance.. That was me picking up whoever's bike it was that fell over (It did just fall over as he was getting on it) Vader was the one taking photos :)

In saying that I did make sure my camera was on first

At the end you can see our resident hero Mudwiz take his Varadeo up a well over 45 degree climb for a shortcut.
