For Sale GS help please ?

There's enough folk here that'll know I'm not a Dark sider, but listen. I've been offered an 03 R1150 GS with 32700 miles on the clock in blue and white. My mate has serviced it from new and it's the one model I always fancied. Help me guys, it's pretty tidy and clean .What would be a fair price to pay for it, ? (new MOT,but needs new tyres and battery)

I need to make an offer quick'ish, Thanx !

PS. I always considered this the best of all the GS's, but am I missing something ? Anything these are famous for in the way of failures ?

Mines an '03 (always wanted a blue and white)

that mileage is nothing and you shouldn't have any surprises

the only thing that's let me down in 40k+ miles (now showing over 65k) is the starter motor otherwise it's been dead reliable

as for price all I can suggest is take a look at the ones on ebay etc. as they will vary wildly but I'd guess something in the £3k - £3.5k range is realistic if it's a good 'un

Top advice from Mr. Porter, the blue and white always looks the best. Just check all the normal things as on any bike. Great machine.

Yep I thought £3K - £3.5K as well when I read the first post and see that Ian agrees.

Didn't buy (although 2700 offered was accepted). After riding the bike, which I found much better off road than I expected.I just didn't gel with it. I Found that some big blipping of the throttle at stand still, twisted the bike (I actually nearly dropped it by losing my footing and being off balance) I put that down to the shaft drive, but I never had it on my Vmax which had twice the power ??????? Thanks though for your input folks !

Not the driveshaft, the crankshaft.

Though you get used to it fairly quickly.
