Hibernation

Planning to lay the Strom up for the winter and continue riding my F8GS through the grimy months, so this weekend see’s it’s last outing of 2016

Another local loop of around 90 miles took me over the hills and not too far away.

Got a little time on a forest trail and grabbed these pictures from a few short videos I took

Wandered around to the east gate lodge of Ballindalloch castle for a breather

The Thinking Mans Bike

Took the wyndy and scenic route round the hills to Dufftown and from there to Keith via some small roads . . . . .

. . . . . . . eventually pausing at Spey Bay before heading home

New jacket then ?

Very pensive/ arty farty pose there Steve

You ever considered male modelling ?
Hear Pringles are looking for models for their extensive range of close cut woollen cardigans for the discerning gentleman about town :D

John - not a new jacket, just an old water proof walking jacket being re-cycled :D
And my modelling days have well a truelly past - 6 pack no more, budgie smugglers no-more
Thinking about taking a run out to the commando monument on Remembrance Sunday if your interested - talk soon

Phil - You'll know yerself thats it's easier keeping one bike road fit during the winter than trying to keep two going. The F8GS has had a rub down with an oily rag ready to face the winter road grime onslaught, plus it's wearing proper knobblies, should the white stuff pay us a visit in any quantity  ;)

Hibernation my arse.

Popped out on the F8 this morning, to help blast away a growing covering of cobwebs that have been slowly covering me and the bike :)

The view to the Cairngorms from the Grantown on Spey to Tomintoul road

And back towards Grantown

And finally some snow, to help my little ride out seem all rufty-tuffty-adventury like

A little under 100 mile loop, with damp, gritty, sh1tty roads, very light traffic (only saw one other bike and that was in Elgin when I was re-fueling) and the temp never dropped below 5 degrees C :) = result. Cobwebs well & truely blown away

Nice one young man
Haven't had the bike out last two weekends for one reason or another.
Gotta say the weather is remarkably mild for this time of year.

Have a good new year Steve, see you in 2017 :clapping:
