No, we're not talking about the Holocaust - but what we are talking about is the insidious erosion of our civil liberties, especially if we can't get enthused and just roll over and let it happen. Opposition in the early stages to this creeping barrage of legislation can work; successful lobbying of MEP's, orchestrated by the admittedly discredited MAG, has removed the proposal for a 'super MOT' being introduced in 2015. The A/A2/CBT licence system which has significantly reduced the numbers of new bikers is another prime example of allowing the eurocretins free range without too much opposition. Maybe my quote from Martin Niemöller was inappropriate, but the point I was trying to make is that unless the apathetic majority support the campaigners of this world, we have to accept that as a minority we bikers will just be rolled over and we'll disappear as a species - or worse, we'll all be riding Suzuki Burgman EZ400's!Dee Dub said:We're talking about a slot for a SIM card, not the holocaust.

Did you realise that in a debate you can actually disagree with someone's point of view without being abusive? Try it
Loggy said:As I understand it, we are one of the few countries in the EU that MOT's bikes. Ireland doesn't have it and at the moment, as far as I'm aware, it's not an EU requirement.
The US and Canada don't have MOT's and they seem to manage okay.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion and shouldn't be shouted down for having a different point of view. If you don't agree then you will just have to agree to disagree! Doesn't matter how strict an MOT is, it's only valid for the day of the test anyway!
