Blue hills is good - Gary and Lou run, or used to. Been RTW on a couple of dommis. Lou is or was a bike journo/ travel writer on something like the guardian We had an Xrv meet there in 2009. I Had a hoot riding gary's dommi outfit around the campsite. It's a long walk to the pub though.

Sent from my iPhone with a smile :)

Bluehills is good but a fair walk from a pub from what I remember. Wiltshire? Merkinsfarm.com near Bradford on Avon had Enfield owners this year. Nice quiet site with pub up the road. Miles of easy trails near by. Loads of history....Bradford, Bath, Avebury, etc. Could approach the owners if enough interest?

Fair walk is no good. I struggled with the walk on Saturday evening and the pub was on the campsite :D :D

Nice area I've never been to on the bike, that sounds good to me. Pub within crawling distance. Cafe on site for breakfast, that's nice. Campsite seems a bit small though, they say only 1 shower and 2 toilets. That's even less than Takoda.

Hows about something in the South downs or The New Forest?
Camping in the new Forest on a bike is a bit tricky. Tried it a few years ago, booked online, rocked up on the bike, walked into reception in my bike gear and was promptly asked if we brought a portable toilet as none where supplied on the campsite. When i asked them in a calm and controlled manner where the feck they recon i should strap a porterloo to my bike i was asked to leave. Nothing at all on the website mentioned anything about loos. Anyway i brought the kitchen sink as usual and thought that was enough

New Forest is beautiful but the roads are a pain in the a*se, 40mph limit everywhere. What about Salisbury Plain?

Know a campsite that will have us - with a pubnearby? Even within spitting distance (north side better).

Edit, chatting to a friend last night Re planning a lads trip away to the lakes.

He says, ''been looking on the map, there is a shipbuilding museum in Barrow, we could then could go onto Walney Island, not far from there is a little island called Piel and it has a castle on it, dunno if you have been that way before?''

WELL......[emoji3]

Tone,

would the 'Three Magpies' at Seend be big enough and have the facilities? I've only ridden from there for the day (with you), not camped before. I've been looking online and can't really find any other suitable site.

We must be able to find somewhere north of the Plain that will take us. Surely anywhere between Oxford and Bath would be close enough and have plenty for road riders. We could visit the source of the Thames, for example.

The source of the Thames really isn't very exciting Chris, plus the locals will point to at least three different spots :D

I'm with Tone and Bob, anything like this years and it will be excellent

Can we do a major off road sesh ? Tone's suggestion looks like a go-er for me.
Where are the plains anyway ??????
