What's your current route to work Vader? And what time? I'd like to position myself to film you falling off as I normally only see you vanish in my rear-view mirror and have to come back to help you pick up the bike.

Fancy some Kent green lanes today (Sunday)?

So long as the ice giants don't go dumping any snow at Heathrow next week I'll be happy.

Up here on the Costa Lancashire there's a bit of a nip in the air this morning and the grass is a bit frosty but there's been no snow and its wall to wall blue sky. A good day to give the heated jackets a try out I reckon.

Take it easy Pete & anyone else that commutes in such weather :/

I've long since resigned from the idea that riding in mud or ice/snow is in any way fun!

Nice crisp day on the costa del saltburn although heavy rain followed by hail last night - which quickly froze, have left paths & side roads treacherous.

Yeah even though those impressive BMW gadgets may keep you dry, they won't stop you falling off :(

Easy to fit too by the looks of it! Modern technology heh :D

Took a little ride out this afternoon, seeing as the snow had not really come to anything and the frost that we've has for the last 4 days was sort of lifting. . . . . and I hadn't had a "bike" fix for 3 whole days :eekicon:
Roads wre nice and empty and just wet with the odd patch of ice from snow run off. As usual this far north, the local authority use plenty of salt/grit on the roads that need it . . . . and on loads of others that don't  Beautiful day for a short bimble, given the time of year :thumbsupanim:

Kjell, lovely photos, thanks for sharing. We have a fair amount of frozen snow and ice here on the roads in the East Midkands. Time off work, for a change, and Morag's not left the stable.

Me and Sam are grounded, we came down with flu on boxing day and haven't moved out the house since.

Would have quite liked to mess about on the twin at the minute.

Cold, meh. Usually not a problem, as long as it's dry...

Though at the moment the bike doesn't quite agree, beefy oldfashioned Bosch starter motor and 5YO battery doesn't quite agree with this sort of weather, and I'm just done replacing both of them. Found an exhaust leak too, fixing that too should make starting a bit easier again without the need for flagging down another Skoda Diesel. ;)

Then again, the exo2 controller let out its magic smoke last week, that does make things slightly less pleasant on the bike.

That's a bugger,

Can you catch it via the internet as I've started aching now :(

Hope you both feel better soon.

Brilliant
Well sort of Michel, sorry to hear of your misfortunes, but the way you tell 'em cracks me up :D :D

Good luck my young dutch friend, hope you get to the bottom of things.
What else is there to exchange ??? :respect:

Could be a lot worse --- just heard someone in Glasgow has got E Boli

God help them :(

It'll be fine lowflyer. Got time this week. Something that's been lacking a bit in the run up to xmas. Exo2 controller's in the post, left the exhaust bolts soaking in penetrating oil for the night after snapping the first one I tried. ;)

I'd rather be on the bike than on the train this time of year, given the Dutch approach to running trains in freezing weather is to cancel half the schedule so the other half can run on time. Not that they make the trains longer, mind...

Nice one Steve , where's dat then ? Don't recognise it -- east coast maybe ?
No where near John. Just a dozen miles from me - the road between Dallas & Knockando. The track leads to the estates clay range . . . . . and it was covered in ice :eekicon: , so no, I didn't ride up it ;)

I've just been reading the news about this.

For all the do gooders praising these people for going to high risk areas, perhaps they would like to now explain to the other 600 odd passengers of the aircraft they have come in contact with, who at the time would have not had the luxury of making the informed decision of flying with infected individuals like this nurse did.

Its about time free travel to these areas were suspended. Send medicines, allow volunteers to enter, but all must enter quarantine for a period before being released back into the main stream. Allowing these people to travel freely by commercial and public means is bloody idiotic.

This is how it will get out of control here.
