Here's a field kitchen, that surely qualifies as other stuff.

Looks like one, yeah.

Brave man, that. I have one, and I refuse to use it ever since it set me on fire.

That sounds like Geoff's afterburner stove.. It melted my cup that did..

These are dog's danglies

Dogs danglies, well that Optimus sure went WOOF at me allright. And I have the holes in my Gericke trousers to prove it. (Fortunately outer layer only, the goretex is intact.) Caused a bit of a scene I did, it was 1 am, with 30+ bikers all around me. It focuses your attention like nothing else though, big fireball like that half a meter from your crotch. :D

So yeah. Fekkin upended ICBM getting uppity. No more Optimus 8R for me...

I have been pondering one of those Coleman burners, they seem the most civilised of the petrol stoves.

They are.. If you can find one of the older 400a stoves (the ones with the separate on / off and flame adjust control levers) then grab it. Make sure you give it the once over as the generators are getting tricky to find but they are an even better stove than the newer single control lever ones.

Unlike some stoves they both simmer well but the old 400a is in a class of its own. I have both

Yeah I have some of those "some stoves". The MSR Whisperlite is not known for its finegrained flame control...

I had been looking at a 442 feather, seen one new for 90 euro, which seems to be a decent price, and there's something to be said for not buying someone else's old banger.
