Truly gutted hearing this news, I only met Andy maybe half a dozen times but they were quality. He amazed me with his winter jaunts to the West Wales Invasions. I thoroughly enjoyed his stories & he would revel in others. RIP Andy.

we all seem to have missed it when it happened, but talking to John, he kind of knew Andy was a very private person and would not burden anyone with his troubles :( got to respect the man even more for that. What about our own little memorial drink at the National, a bit of a collection/auction, and we send whatever we rustle up to a charity of Andy's family's choice.....in his name....? Just a thought .......

Oh my jesus f'in christ, how on earth have I missed this....
To say me & V are gutted is an understatement to say the least.

It was out of sorts for Andy not to make Oban & this years' national in Dent.
I kept intending pinging him a message to check in & see how he's doing but in typical fashion never 'got around' to it.

I'm sure a whole heap if us would have taken the opportunity so say our final farewells.

Andy was an absolute gent and legend rest easy my friend.

Miserable old bugger.
Andy and I had some great European adventures around the Netherlands and Germany. I hadn't heard from him for a few years but always meant to catch up. Too late now.

Taken I while gutted really and stuck for words.

Andy as it has been said was very a very private person, but as he can't bollock me now this is what I know.

When he had his blip and stopped riding I spoke to him and he said he would keep in touch. After he found his mojo again he was supposed to come down and stay with us but unfortunately we never got it organised.

He had a meet up planned in Derbyshire the weekend of the National but as it was Johns bash was going to come to Dent for a few nights prior to going down.

As you all know this never happened. When I got home I called him to see if he was ok, he was in hospital with a blockage in his bowl and was going to have an op. I did ask him to pass my number on to Dougie just in case the worst happened as Andy himself said it was a 50/50 chance because of his age.

I got a message from him on the 21/09 - Hi Simon, just to let you know I had the OP on Monday and all seems to be good at the moment ect. Will keep you up to date with progress.

I did send Dougie a message on FB sending all our condolences and saying if we had known of Andy's passing there would of been a lot of people turn up to pay their respects. He must have a block on as I have had no reply.

RIP Soup Spiller we had some great crack over the years.

Shocked and stunned by this very sad news, only found out at the weekend when Debs told me at the Ride To The Wall Christmas lunch at the NMA Alrewas.
My lasting memory is of Austin, Andy and I riding back from the Welsh Invasion at Pembrey Camp and it rained all the way home to North Wales.
Andy was staying with Austin en route home, we smiled, we laughed and we rode our bikes together in the howling wind and wet Welsh rain.
It was a privilege and a pleasure to have briefly known Andy.
I'm sure him and Frad will be having the craic.
R.I.P. Respect

It was only last week I was telling my wife what a legend Andy was and how he was getting back on a bike proving motorcycling is in your blood.

R.I.P. Andy you will be missed
