First off a huge thank you to Austin for organising the trip - if not the weather. ;)

Short version - had a fabulous time. I'm sure the others will chime in when they get home.

Said goodbye to half the crew yesterday at Kirk Yetholm and the rest today, either from Wooler or Lindisfarne. Currently sat having a brew after making our way back to Wooler from Lindisfarne - and not getting lost on the way. Off to Scotland proper tomorrow.

As I got home last night perhaps I should have posted first but I was too knackered. :eekicon:
Like Lutin I had a terrific time, great organisation, great people and a brilliant ride even taking a bit? of rain into consideration. The rain did nothing to spoil the event as I did not get wet at all proving that good kit makes biking in all weathers quite possible. :D Unfortunately, I chose to do without the panniers and my top box was a bit tightly packed so fiddling around for the camera was just a hassle, hence no pictures from me. :(
Once again Austin did us proud, the ideas the man comes up with are just great, so thank you again Sir Winkler. :D :D

A big thank you from moi aussi :thumbsupanim:
Excellent navigation, brilliant roads & enjoyable company - everything you need for a great weekend :)
Rain? What rain? :mockery17:

A huge big thank you to Austin from me as well

One of the best biking weekends I have EVER had

Great company, fantastic roads, weather that got better each day

Elle and I had an explorative journey home criss crossing the north of England ending up on a route we could have just done from Wooler :thumbsupanim:

Home at 4.30pm with very happy memories of the last four days

Have looked at the video and it looks great so will find a way of posting it up

John (re. the bum bit, I thought what went on during an Austin's Adventure, stayed on an Austin's Adventure!)

Nope. That rule is for Vegas.

What happens on Austin's adventure gets publicly broadcast was my reading of the rule!

And thanks again from me too. Super slick organisation, brilliant group of people, all in all highly entertaining despite the questionable weather. Really wanted to stay last night, get stuck into a few more beers and then do the east coast today, but duty calls I guess!
My first outing of this type, but definitely not my last. I'll be back!
Oh, and enjoy the rest of your trip Tony & Rachael

Thanks to everyone who came along on this mega ride out and made it a memorable weekend, and once I realised all was going to go well I enjoyed it too. It was a great group that I think jelled really well and its always the people and the places that make for a great trip. I didnt even think the weather spoiled it all: it was mostly dryish with occasional light drizzle and the odd heavier burst and by Sunday afternoon was sunny and warm.

Here's some pics.....
Bunk House / Pub at the start

outside Jellies after breakfast

Edale in the mist

The official start of the Pennine Way in Edale

Top of Holme Moss and the residue of the Tour de France passing

Sid's Cafe (of last of the summer wine fame) Holmfirth

Malham Cove from the road

Ribblehead

Hardraw Force out the back of the Green Dragon, Hardraw. Thanks to Paul Bimbler for the taking my camera up there as I couldnt be bothered to walk up.

Various shots from Saturday night, mostly after the landlord gave us 10 whisky glasses to drink up the bottle of Jura the guys had bought for me as a thank you for organising it all

Ross a bit over exposed - oops

DAY 2
Buttertubs

Tan Hill Inn

the real pennine way at Tan Hill Inn. Shame its not rideable

Takoda

Some Interlopers from another meet

Fixing the puncture in Dave-S's tyre. Caused coz the fitters hadnt removed a sticker from the inside of the tyre that eventually wore a hole in the tube. Richard stood there for an hour with his foot on the impromptu stand. :eekicon:

Mithraic Temple at Brocolitia on the Roman Wall

Kielder Forest Drive

Kirk Yetholm....the end. About 5.00pm

and coz Elle was missing we did the group photo again

Lindisfarne on Monday

Two castles - Lindisfarne and Bamburgh in the distance.

Bamburgh Castle on full optical and digital zoom - 20x I think

and, erm that's it. Brilliant time and thanks to all. :thumbsupanim:

Thank you, Austin for a great weekend. Super smooth organisation, as usual. I won''t hold you responsible for the snoring, but next time I am inclined to take some recording equipment and see if they can be posted up alongside the photos and videos. I'm sure it would provide some "Name that snore" style entertainment.
