Took a spin down to Kilochleven on Friday to watch two sections of this event.
Great turn out in fantastic weather

Used to have one like this, except it was a scrambler

Old skool determination -- didn't do him much good, he binned it shortly after this was taken. There were lots of fallen bikes , but I didn't photo any of them, bad form to do so ;)

Great day out and with the smell of Putoline (or whatever 2 stroke mix it was) still in my nostrils, I headed back on the trusty T7, glad of the cool wind on the way home :)

I had an Ossa 250 trials bike when I was in my early 20s. Bought it as a box of bits from some guy in the pub. It was a pig to ride and I never mastered it. 250 air cooled single. Light and dead simple but Regularly started with the engine cycling in reverse. I think a reed valve was missing in the intake. My brother bought it off me and very soon after sold it.

Trials is one of those things that some people make look so easy but what is in reality dead dead hard.

You are bang on there Austin, looks easy -- but o_O
I went back on the Monday with my mate who is a seasoned rider, (he used to take in the flags at the end of a section), plus an observer for thirty odd years on the six days to watch the SSDT proper. The difficult part in the six days is getting from section to section, sometimes over 20miles of peat and rough ground. That's what separates the men from the boys, the cross country is more strength sapping than the actual sections, especially over 6 days.
When you see the top boys dance their way up a section when others are floundering, you get a perspective on their skills as a rider.
I think the SSDT is arguably the toughest in europe and possibly the world, dunno, I was always moto x, but I was pretty impressed on both days.
I'll be back next year ( depending on the weather ;) ) Been in that area many times in not so favourable weather !!!

My brother in law marshals at the 6 day every year, he has a road legal Montessa 250 four stroke he uses to get to the stages... and to play on of course!
