Steaming in Spain!

We've now had two months non-stop heatwave......40C+ most days!

Hottest for 40 years apparently.......and there are numerous cases of people throughout the country dying of heatstroke.

The only way to get a ride is go out early.......and keep moving! So I went up the lakes.

Too hot to go on these.....

Water looks good as usual.....

View from the bridge! I've ridden along those trails at the bottom.....but obviously in more sensible temperatures.

The wall of the Dam!

And then back along the canal paths......amazed there's any water in them!

We have heavy showers and 11 degrees C.
The ´Swedish "summer" has been a waist of time.

Although 40 degrees C is perhaps a Thad overkill...

Not quite that bad here in Ireland - but it could be better.

I've been here 10 years.....my British metabolism went a long time ago. So I could probably sustain it a lot better than the average Brit.

But you learn from experience that there's a point you shouldn't go beyond. For me that's around 40.

Anything more than that and you risk heatstroke, dehydration, blinding headaches, and loss of concentration. It gets dangerous!

Unless you're a Yank on FaceButt of course.......they can handle Death Valley at temps a lot higher than that. Allegedly! :rolleyes2:

Doing my vest to count the mozac tiles on the bottom of the pool.

It's reached 37 on the bikes thermometer every day for the past 5 days here in Idaho and Montana, but we are at over 6,000 feet. It's a bit cooler up the passes but I hear it's even hotter down on the plains. It's too hot to do anything except ride or hide in a dark cafe sipping ice water. Thunder forecast today.

Nice one Pete :thumbsupanim: I must get down to your area sometime.

I was in Spain a couple of weeks ago, we were riding in the Bardenas Reales, it's a semi-desert in Navarre. It was 41c while we were there which was testing conditions to ride in sand :eekicon:
