The ground is still frozen, so soft slurry on top of frozen gravel - and potholes..........and not a single Loggerhead Shrike to be seen.

The area we were working all last summer is one of the few strongholds of the Ontario Loggerhead Shrike. We saw them a few times, but didn't find any of those delightful caches
