The unthinkable has happened...

























I've washed the bloody bike.

And it's surprisingly invisible actually, all over.

Some of the grot and grime around the sump area is going to need more to shift than the high pressure hose.
Though the rear wheel cleaned up surprisingly well with just a load of water, which makes sense as it's been replaced at some point so has less of a buildup:

Oh and as is proper, I forgot to hose down the clocks and the indicators, so they're still somewhat green.

Nah, if I'm painting the frame it'll be stripdown and powdercoat time, but that's for some time when round tuits (and cash) are more readily available.

But then, these old bikes are solidly built and can handle a spot of rust, unlike some of the newer stuff where it seems desperate measures are needed.

It really needed a hose down though. It still had the fork oil from the Haggis run all over the right hand pot and carb. And that fine wet sand from the last pic gets absolutely everywhere...

Or do you mean just leave it as is?

Wishlist does involve a stripdown/rebuild, including some frame fortifications and who knows possibly an 1100 swingarm.
But that's long term wishful thinking, for now it should be good enough, it's only done 200.000 km...
