Now, the dilemma is which tent do I take?

Choice of 3

1, little 2 man job that I can’t sit up in which may not be a good idea for my back but it will fit in my top box

2, khyam biker, quick to pitch but packs big and heavy and will have to be strapped to the back of the bike

3, Terra Nova 4 birth, nice and roomy, takes a bit longer to pitch but packs smaller and lighter than the Khyam and still needs to live on the back seat

At the moment I’m favouring the Terra Nova for a bit of extra room when we’re pitched for a few days at our destination - just a shame I can’t fit it in the top box

You upping the anti with a wee video setup?

I have an old VIO POV (bullet camera) I was hoping to take but I'm struggling in getting a mount setup :(

Well I did try!

Eldest donated a Garmin VIRB camera for me to try out. Having tried the bespoke mounting kit I was not impressed with the vibes that were showing up on the video, so my plan was to use a ram ball mount.
All going swimmingly in that I managed to get a ram ball centrally mounted. Yesterday the extra spcial mounting bit that bolts to the camera mount arrived . . . HURRAH.
Then I attempted to mount the whole shabang onto the bike . . . only to find that it doesn't clear the top of the screen - BUMMOCKS.

Dust has been blown off of the drawing board, pencils sharpened in anticipation of a solution finding session.

Took a spin out on the fully laden NC on a “shake-down” camping trip to see if:-

A – I’d forgotten to pack something

B – I’d packed too much (as if )

C – Would the little bike manage to carry me & my sh1te

A view back to Lochend

We settled in for the evening at Cannich camping site. What a wonderfully clean & quiet location and not too busy at this time of year.

Next morning we wander to the end of the road that takes you into Glen Affric

Conclusion after the shake down trip in reverse order;-

C – The bike coped just fine . . . as I thought it would :respect13:

B – Didn’t come across anything that I didn’t / wouldn’t have a use for (inflatable dolls are essential company on long trips away from home . . . allegedly)

A – Only the one thing and that was some lube – for the bikes chain you perverts

Popped in to pester the Grouse tester - apparently he was at a prolonged tasting session yesterday and was a tad "fragile" when we knoccked on the door ;)
Thanks for coffee John - strong and black the way you needed it

Great company on a great little ride. Now, where did I put that map of Italy?
