Well that's the last time I use Oponeo for tyres

I bought some new tyres from Oponeo last week and as usual they were delivered promptly

Trouble is one of them was wrong

Now I don't mind that they made a mistake, it happens, but what I do expect is that they rectify the mistake efficiently

A week later and they can't even give me a date when they are collecting the tyre let alone refunding my account, emails and phones just result in them telling me they "have to follow guidelines"

How long does it take to arrange a courier really? I'm sure I could do it on line in 10 minutes but an online retailer takes a week at least? Pathetic!!!

So looks like I'll be shopping elsewhere for tyres in future

Ian, I've always had excellent service from thevisorshop.com (Crossan Motorcycles). They are based in Newry, County Down (Northern Ireland) but postage is free for any order over £50 - so basically any tyre they stock.

This is why I always pay by credit card, if a company fucks you about like this then you can put a claim in saying they've robbed you (basically it's what they are doing) and claim the money back.

Causes a big headache for the company but if they dealt with you correct in the first place then you wouldn't have to, they've only got themselves to blame.

which is what I'll be doing if they don't resolve things properly

I've just had 3 tyres delivered from them and they were ok Mitas E-09 Dakars (Armco barrier compound !!)

2 fronts and 1 rear for the AT

However, following on from Bob's post I've ordered a new front Pirelli MT21 for the DRZ

We'll see how they fare, they were £2.71 cheaper than Oponeo

They still can't give me a collection date

I'll be taking it up with the credit card tomorrow

so, two weeks on and they finally collect the tyre

it took getting Paypal involved to get them moving though

let's see how long it takes for me to get my refund!!!

and so it goes on,

they are now refusing to refund me unless I cancel the dispute with Paypal, they say they can't access my account while a dispute is in progress

if I do cancel the dispute they are promising an immediate refund once the tyre is back with them (yeah, right, like I trust them to do that)

they know full well that once closed a dispute cannot be reopened

I've told them I wont be held to ransom and have contacted Paypal for guidance

wish me luck

Good luck Ian,

Used them in the past with no issues.

They won't be getting my custom now
Let us know how you get on

Glad you didn't fall for it, Ian. Interested to know what Paypal's response will be.

Email from Paypal this morning ruling in my favour

They have instructed me to send the tyre back (which I did yesterday) and once they have confirmation of delivery they will refund me and then deal with Oponeo

I'm not cancelling the dispute now that's for sure [emoji106]
