People used to say that at least Mussolini made the trains run on time. That was important to Ducati owners. :hitler:

Thats mean, its a matter of record that 98% of all Ducaties built are still on the road.

The other 2% made it home.

That in itself doesn't mean much. At what cost, that's the question...

It's a matter of definition. My GS is about to cross the 00000 for a second time. Durable bikes those old boxers. Just routine maintenance: Bit of oil, couple of rear shocks, 2 shaft rebuilds, one gearbox rebuild, one clutch while I was at it, one valve job plus big-end while it was open anyway, you know, basic stuff. :D

Re: Tick

Had a go on Sharries Red Italian Stalion on a private road. The acceleration is scary ( after the Beemer) it jumped from zero to over a ton in less than 150 meters. Thank god the traction control was on. Cant wait to try the red beasty on some longer private roads early in the morning. :thumbsupanim:

I know it's a ducati and it looks great in the ONE PICTURE on this thread. What exactly is it for us non-ducatistas. They all look much the same to me ;)

It's a multi strada. Came with luggage, loads of toys and Sharri has yet to try it in full fat sport mode ( 150 bhp ) :thumbsupanim: :thumbsupanim:

Having ridden the little red squishy thing. All i can say is OMG what an animal. it goes 0 too silly speed in seconds. But the down side of riding spirited as Sharrie has found out she can drain a 200 miler in 150 miles. I find it scary to ride. Give me my GSA any day. Old and reliable.
Going to wait for a dry day unlike Sharrie to ride like I stole it. :thumbsupanim:

Re: Tick

I don't think that I've even seen one of these - mind you that's not saying much as there are not that many bikes round this neck of the woods.

Sounds like it'd be right feisty with 150 bhp - even if that is in "sport" mode (or whatever it's called).

Just had a think and I don't recall that any vehicle that I've owned has ever had 100 bhp (never mind over 100 bhp) - and that includes cars. I've ridden (and owned) a very, very limited range of bikes - and most of my biking has been done on a 650 Transalp.

Inexperienced of Galway.......... ;)

When we were in Scotland in June every other bike was a Multistrada, they easily outnumbered the GS's.

Either that or the same one kept following us :)

Re: Tick

Sharrie and I had a little ride the other day and my GSA WON, whay. Only because I set hers on enduro mode which limits the bike to 100 BRake horses :D. Doing this will increase her MPG. But when Shaz found out I think the red arrows have a new member boy its fast. :thumbsupanim:

Hadn't you better ask Sharrie first before you start planning anything? You know how touchy women can be if they think they're being taken advantage of!

It's a gorgeous looking bike, saw one at Touratech fitted with TKC's - sexy as f***

Enjoy

Re: Tick

I was thinking about it anyway Pete. The VFR is not a perfect track bike so a steady pace will be the order of the day. Get that wing up there :eekicon:
