Simon,
where, when, how far up?

Funny, was chatting to a few mates about a trip to Norway next year.
I've a feeling Nordcapp is too far in a fortnight...

It doesn't really matter where you go or how far north you get, the fjords and scenery are stunning. If you can get far enough north though the Lafoten islands should be on your list.

Can I come too?

July is a good choise since the smaller roads on higher altitudes usually are closed until then.
I missed a few roads when visiting early june since they are fully snow covered, like the old road from Grotli to Stryn: http://goo.gl/maps/VHIyE

I will probably drive up to Norway one more time this summer if the weather permits.
It started snowing in many parts of Norway the week after I visited this year, and it would have been to exciting trying to drive on snowy roads with my present bike...

PM me your e-mail address and I will mail you a pdf map showing all good motorcycle roads in Norway.

Most roads are great to drive, but these marked roads are even better, and choosen by Norwegian Motorcyclist as something special to ride.
The map is 8 Mb large, and I use it for finding the roads and routing them in my SatNav.

I would be glad to be of any assistance when it comes to routplanning, but my knowledge is nothing compared to those Norwegians that are forum members here.
Also my experience is mainly from roads south of Trollstigen.
I have been to Nordkapp, but I drove a car....

Norway. http://www.visitnorway.com/se/vn/map/?a ... ource=arti
The Atlantic Sea road (Atlanterhavsveien).
The road is 8,27 km and the Atlantic Sea road is part off the 36 km long National Tourist road between Bud and Kårvåg.
The road number is Fv64 (Fylkesveg 64) between Vevang situated in Eide community and Kårvåg situated in Averøy kommun in Møre og Romsdal.
Atlantic Sea road: http://goo.gl/maps/Z00M0 The road starts at "A" and ends at "B"

Troll road (Trollstigen).
http://goo.gl/maps/tvzJd is well worth a visit.

This is also a good stretch of road: http://goo.gl/maps/YSiyp

mmm Simon, watching with interest and tempted,

I got as far as Fauske from Burgen on my Artic circle bid, ( only had a week, defo a two week trip if your Nord cappin :) )

took the FV302 summer road from Ovre Ardal to the 55 to Lom as part of my 1 day mission from Vos near Bergan to Trondheim ( Hell).

those high roads are great and interesting but 'king cold even in July and 200m section was washed out .. very interesting two up on a fully loaded Bandit.

service station are great as they nearly all have wee cafes , so you can live on hot dogs :)
