We've had loads of WW2 bombs either come a shore or been exposed on the beaches down here since we had the storms. Bomb squad have detonated them on Perranporth beach and Newquay beach and a few other places

Pete,

That wasn't even a full demolition, looking at the fire ball and lack of real blast wave, and the burning afterwards!

Looked to me like they opened the bomb casing as they blew it, causing whats called a "Low Order" demolition.

Kinda needed to do that, seeing as it was in the heart of the city - 2000lb bomb, slightly sub-surface blast needs a safety distance of around 3km.

Oh how I miss being allowed to play with stuff like that :|
