Pigeon nearly took me out!

Was riding home this afternoon from work doing just over the speed limit when this Pigeon came out of nowhere and hit my o/s rear view mirror. It smashed into the mirror and then proceeded to launch itself into my neck! I got a right face full. Luckily my visor was down.

When it hit the mirror I thought it had broken it as it was all loose and flapping around. It also gave me a bit of a tank slapper and when it hit my neck it was lodged under the helmet. I had to scoop it out. I got home and all that needed to be done was tighten up the retaining nut... So no broken mirror.
My visor and jacket were covered in that powder stuff that comes off them when you hit them! Neck took a bit of a hit but I'm okay now.

So after s4mst3r's Pheasant hit and now my Pigeon hit, be careful out there guys and galls! :ride-bumps:

Well DC, I didn't have time to check on the serviceability of the Pigeon... I was too busy getting it out from under my helmet before it bit my lip off... :drive:

Them Dammed RAF types used to paracute the pig eons into gerry during the remodeling in the forties. Vader has not seen this post yet. He found this idea brilliant.

Ah, seen... Sorry mate, I must have been tired...

Blimey, glad you didn't get a face full of wasps! I had a wasp hit the mirror of a DROPS when I was at 1 Squadron. It deflected and hit my neck, then dropped into my shirt. I got stung about three times... Have you noticed it's never Bees that this happens with, it's always wasps that can sting multiple times....
