Just heard this - Rick Mayall has passed away at the age of 56! Good grief, that's no age at all.

Rick Mayall, star of The Young Ones, dies aged 56.

So farwell "Rick" from the Young Ones and Flashheart from Blackadder - or slackbladder as I seem to recall.

Very sad news.

If anyone managed to miss out on seeing Drop Dead Fred then get hold of it. It's brilliant. I was only introduced to this a few weeks ago and can't believe he is no more.

B'Stard was my nickname for years.

RIP. He will be sadly missed but he has left an awesome collection of comedy genius for us to enjoy.

I saw him and Ade Edmondson at Wolverhampton Civic some years back in the stage version of Bottom. One of the funniest shows I've ever seen, loads of improvising and so quick with the humour.
Great loss, very sad news.
