Can you stick up a photo of the Police version of the Right Hand Switchgear?

There's a couple of places I can suggest -

P & T's Used Bike Parts might have what you need.

Alternatively, there's chap over on the xrvireland forum that breaks bikes, goes by the forum name of Lam (real name Alan). You'll have to sign up to the forum to find the For Sale/Wanted section - 'tis free though and they're a good bunch of lads.

Wow, that's a large chunk of switch alright. I now wee what you mean by having to get the throttle assembly and the switchgear.

Having a look through the parts fiches, it would appear that the throttle and switch units from earlier Transalps would do the job. But you'd have to see them first to confirm.

Yeah it's a big mother alright,I'll have a look around ebay and breakers etc to see what I can find, also on xrv Ireland as you suggested,it might be ok if I could wire in some extra lighting to that switch,fogs/spots maybe.

Well, you'd only have to install a switch somewhere else.

Yeah it would be handy to be able to flash the blue lights now and again

Someone suggested to me that the right hand switch gear of a Deauville would work? also any ideas on what the best kind of spotlights or led marker lights would be to fit? anyone ever fitted led's into the handguards?
the lower crash bars might be a good spot for some spotlights.

That would depend as to what is wired to the switch at the moment - and what has been removed (ie Police specific stuff). The Right hand switchgear for the Deauville incorporates the Kill Switch, the Start Switch and either the Lighting Switch (up to 2003) or the Hazard Flasher Switch (2004 on).

I've some Ring Ice Blue lights fitted to my crash bars. But if I was doing it again I'd fit some Cree Led Lights as the current draw is a lot less and they really are bright.

This link will give you more info.

Or you could just search on fleabay with "motorcycle cree".

It would be interesting to see if there is a completely different loom fitted to your bike with it being Police Spec or if there is a sub-loom (that plugs into the standard loom) that caters for all the add-ons.
