Weel weel, that's it done and dusted. Wasn't looking forward to the day, but in the end, turned out fine. Thanks to Simon, Steve and Craig for representing you , his friends, at the Funeral.
I was honoured to be asked to form part of the lead cortege and more than honoured when Allison asked if she could ride pillion with me to the cemetery on Jim's old bike. With Jim's casket strapped firmly to Hudder's bike we set off to Jim's final resting place.
As Steve says, drams were poured and appropriate bottle set next to the casket
. Just before we left, we revved the tits off the bikes, a few of the assembled clapped which set me off a bit.
Couldn't help but snigger on the way back when a group of workers on the main road below the cemetery stopped work and nodded. The obviously heard the roar of the bikes in full chat at the graveside.
To summarize, Jim lived life to the full.
I was probably the last one of our circle of friends to see him and let me tell you , he was his usual self, talked about bikes, bikes, drink and other things
, nothing changes. He looked in good shape, lost a bit of weight which he put down to working on his wee hoose to get ready to move in. In hindsight, that may have not been the smartest thing to do given his his condition, but it would be a braver man than me to tell Jimbo to cool the jets.
A good friend, we will all miss him.
Thanks for the video Craig, good man
