First post here folks, so be kind.

I was out this morning. for a quick 130 mile spin on my 1974 Moto Guzzi Nuovo Falcone around some of the back roads near where I live. Here are a few pictures:

Is that a military Falcone or is it just painted green?

Only seen one in real life and that was in Ardara, County Donegal a few years ago. And if memory serves , it was red and white like this one -

There were two basic models: the 'Militaire' and the 'Civille'. Mine was an Italian Army bike, imported into Canada by an Italian Canadian. Neither model was ever sold in North America, so they are extremely rare (two or three in the country) and correspondingly costly.

The Militaire has leg shields and a full metal air cleaner box (currently off mine) and the 'bunkbed' silencer. The Civille has a slightly lighter flywheel, those ghastly bifurcated silencers and a dual seat.

Other than the unit construction and enclosed valves, the engine is basically the same as the first bike Moto Guzzi produced in 1921 - even down to the same bore and stroke!

Here's a pic of mine with the leg shields, of on a jaunt into a remote part of Quebec.

Nice one....you would love the Guzzi factory museum if u have not been in Lake Como

I'd like the bikes, but I'd prefer to see them ridden, hard and often, not pickled in aspic. (edit): I should qualify that statement. I think a few motorcycle museums are OK. Good examples of bikes should be preserved, but I have no time for personal 'collections', bikes with no oil, polished chrome, tyres with no miles on them etc. etc. They offend me.
