Hi,

I just got a autocom pro 7 set up and set it up in a Shoei helmet the speakers make it really difficult for my ears to not fold over and the call quality is not great. Any ideas? if i can't resolve the comfort part its back on fleby with it.

cheers

I had a similar problem with mine in a Bell Helmet.
I found the speakers needed to be moved slightly so they sat forward.

I have fitted Autocom, Cardo and Interphone speakers and mikes into my Shoei Multitech and the wife's Shoei xr1000 with no problem. Neither of us know they are there comfort wise.

I put a small bit of Velcro inside the ear recess of the helmet, although the Velcro is as much on the end of the chin strap as in the recess and just push the speaker on in as about the nearest place I can. Cables get tucked under the cheek pads lining and pushed up between shell and polystyrene as much as I can. If necessary I use some duck tape to hold in place.

Good luck. Persist with it for a while.

Reminds of life of Brian, "hey big nose" .

I got the speakers and Mic nicely tucked away but the speakers just kept bending the lugs. May cut the backing foam in the helmet to create more of a recess.

Update on this.

Cleaned the wee connectors on the helmet bracket and the cardo unit itself. Working a lot better, reckon there must have been some grease or something on the contact points. That and putting additional foam next to my lugs makes a big difference.

JIm, if you read this, maybe try it on yours. Went out for a quick spin out by Loch Ness this morning and heard Furry Mouth Radio all the way ----- result  :D
