Just in case any body was thinking of attending

The BMF is sorry to learn that its contractor used for organising the three BMF Shows, Mulberry Events Limited, has announced that it is now entering into voluntary liquidation.

As a result it will not be able to run the BMF Tailend Show this year and will not be able to carry out any further business for the BMF.

The Directors of Mulberry Events Limited have issued a statement thanking the BMF, Exhibitors, Clubs and other support services for their help, support and contributions over the past five years of working with the BMF.
As a result of this announcement, a decision has been made by the BMF to cancel the Tail End Show at Peterborough, planned to have been held on 13/14 September 2014.

The BMF will work with the Liquidators of Mulberry Events Limited in an effort to recover from them monies paid by members and exhibitors in relation to the now cancelled Tailend Show 2014. A further press release on this will be issued in due course.

There will be a lot of hard work and planning from this point so the BMF can reorganise arrangements to carry on with its events, in whatever form, for 2015 and onwards. A further press release on this will be issued in due course.
The BMF events have been an integral part of the organisation's activities from the time of its formation in the 1960's. Events have had an important role in generating funds to support the BMF's activities in protecting riders interests, but also to create interaction with the membership and raise public awareness of motorcycling. However the BMF is now no longer reliant on show income to fund lobbying activity.

Despite the news of the Liquidation of Mulberry, the BMF is keen to state that it is in good financial health and will continue to represent the interests of motorcyclists throughout the UK.

Very sorry for those who've lost money and for punter's planning a weekend but I am afraid I've never seen the point of either the BMF or MAG who are in just as much trouble over Employment Tribunals and internecine wars. Motorcycle demonstrations (MAG) are more or less wholly ineffective in getting anything changed and the BMF have always struck me as being the same people who smoke pipes, live in Yorkshire and ride R65's.

More MAG members in Yorkshire than BMF! I've been involved with MAG for 14 odd years now, marshalling the Farmyard Party gate for 12 hours. Those who went would of seen me guiding traffic on the Friday from midday on. Mag does do some good work, currently on round 3 with Bedfordshire county council over their turbo roundabout, bikes in bus lanes is something MAG are quite successful at, have contact with relevant politicians now. Representation in Europe through FEMA. A lot goes on behind the scenes.

The tribunal situation was an unfortunate incident that should've been handled differently, bit to much secrecy surrounding it but if you went to the MAG AGC in Blackpool a lot more was explained.

BMF rallies always struck me as a shop clearance event whereas MAG rallies tended to be more beer and music which I personally prefer. Into the valley, Farmyard, pudding are run by MAP who are all mag members and have biking at heart and not purely driven by the £ like Mulberry were. Its a shame for those losing out as a result of this.
