Just a few words with some photos from this years gathering.
The run from home to Oban didn’t start well – it was raining! Not as much or as heavy as other attendees would be subjected too, but wet enough all the same. Plenty of tales to tell as the Thursday evening came to a close.
Early morning view of the Sound of Kerrera
Friday was Mull day for most present and here are a few of them heading out.
I hung about, waiting to hear news of young Jacks bike test – he passed. He’d be a few hours before being able to head to camp, so I took to wandering around roads I’d not really ridden before, ending up on a trail that I had ridden before . . . as you do . . .
Nice bendy road ride back towards Oban and ended up on a tiny back road that wiggles it’s way to Oban from Taynuilt.
Floating traffic along the sound doesn’t get much grander than this boat . . . with the little skiff for size comparison
More attendees arrived as day turned into night, making up a total of 15 sippers of ale.
The camp site just after dawn on Saturday . . .
. . . and the Highlander having his morning oats . . .
A ride to and through Glen Coe was part of todays plan, with a side ride down the “Skyfall” glen
Next was Glen Ochry and its varied waterfalls and rock features . . .
Inverary for grub (no pictures thankfully) and the mandatory piccie of the Vital Spark at its berth . . .
The group split on leaving Inverary, with some dirty fun being had by a small bunch . . .
Everybody had a fun time, both on & off road.
Popped into Oban as the sun was setting
Twas a really great weekend for me, with great company, great craic, great riding that was enjoyed in great weather all weekend. Top marks for your organisional skills Dobby (aka Hudders ), not many folk can fix that sort of weather for a meet in Scotland
Till next year
