Just found my tank is leaking from a pin hole, anybody had repairs done they could recommend? Found some stuff called POR15 on the net, anybody used it and any good?

Anybody got a spare RD07/a tank?

Thanks

Rob

I'm more bothered about the nationals mate. Not a lot of time to repair it.

Still, if I have to take the car, at least I'll have a decent size tent....lol

Wasn't there a trick with rubbing soap in it? Temporary bodge clearly, but for the immediate future it might be worth a google.

Found where its from mate, the bracket that holds the rh upper fairing mount.
I'll ring a tank repairer tomorrow. See if I can get it done next week.

I cleaned up around the leak on my RD04 tank and coated it with JB weld, was still holding in over a year later, might tide you over until a 2nd hand one comes along.

Yep.....What Jim said.
I used similar stuff to fix Soho's dommie on the way to the Stella a few summers ago.
Got him all the way up there, back...and then some.
Should get you through for a bit.
Good luck with it.

I've used some Loctite two pack chemical metal from work, its listed as solvent and petrol resistant. I've also ordered POR15 tank sealant treatment kit.
Should keep the bike going for the time being. Kit takes 96 hrs to set so it should be OK for the national. Won't look pretty but hey ho.

I'll get it repainted after, but also looking at one of rugged roads 38 ltr carbon tanks. When the funds allow.
