Good news on this one. I spoke to the forestry today. The lady I dealt with last year has been made redundant and I am back to dealing with my old mate Archie who brokered it all for us in the first place. He said for me to complete all the details so I am 99% certain this will go ahead on the dates mentioned. No mention of charges though so assume the same as previous years and I will need a tenner, but not yet as I dont want to mix up Pennine Way money with Galloway money.

Absolutely nothing wrong with leaving Galloway on the back of a break down truck is all i can say, it makes for a very leisurely run home...

I promise to try not to do any silly damage this year.

I'm in Austin:p

Just to let you know I am not ignoring this thread, just focusing on the Pennine Way run and on my trip to the USA - which is less than 4 weeks away. I will get back on this when I get back but have sent all the forms, risk assessments, etc off to the forestry people. In the meantime please keeping adding your names here.

So perhaps, if any more wimps go, we can have a road rideout?

Any update on this one, Austin?

I emailed last week but found the mail stuck in my drafts folder tonight as I got the email address slightly wrong (not for the first time), The email is on its way again so hopefully a reply soon. I cant see why they wont say ok again and even if they do we can have a meet up and rideout through the area.

The forestry ride should be £10 again and I will need copies of insurance certs emailed or posted to me. I will confirm all details over the next few days when I hear back from the forestry. I have registered my mobile phone to the new Paym service which I really recommend as its is the simplest way to pay friends and family small sums.

I will email the campsite tonight as well. I know it turned into a bit of a farce there last time but the arrangements should all be simpler this time and I have looked around and cant find anywhere better.

Bugger. The campsite is booked up for a private event that weekend. The Thinking cap is going on.

Sent from my iPhone with a smile :)
