Zumo XT….. I got one the other day. The mounting bracket seems very iffy. Anyone else? What have you done to secure it or tether it somehow?

Hi Austin. I got an XT as well. I wondered the same especially on some bumpy trails so I bit the bullet and bought the Touratech mount. It’s really solid and good quality, and reassuringly expensive of course!

Yes I saw them Bob. Pricey indeed - more than half what I paid for Xumo. From what I can read on forums like UKGSer if the device is mounted properly the mount holds it quite securely.

on my old Garmin Montana I used to lock it to the cradle. But, it was right pita when it needed removing whereas when I just clipped it in it was a lot easier to remove - literally a second and one hand. It was definitely more secure in my pocket than on the bike when not riding.

Hi Austin,

I have my zumo XT mounted on the T7 on the cross bar above the speedo.
I have done a lot of off roading on the T7 with the XT mounted in the original cradle and have had no problems whatsoever.

Hope this helps
