Hi All,
Just thought I'd say hi and nice to find a big trailee forum. I am also on XRV and still on VFR forum, more lurking than active on there.
I missed out on a Africa Twin or Cagiva Elefant many tears ago when I chose a Bandit instead. Had a Varadero 1000 for some time (loved it) and now have a 2012 Transalp 700 after several year of vfr ownership.
I've done a few mods to the Alp including a larger side stand foot, I have lifted the screen 2 inches higher and 1 inch away from me, I have made a satnav mount, it now has heated grips, touring scottoiler, a 16 tooth front sprocket instead of 15 tooth - cruises at 90 now and 60 mpg's - and a givi topbox.
Next mod is researching decating the mid section of the exhaust.
I have just returned from a trip to the Eifel in Germany which was 1400 miles in 4 days including a away day in the Black forest. Earlier in the year I went to Wales for the Yamaha Tenere off road experience so done 2 good trips so far on the Alp. Up to about 5 k miles in the last 4 months and enjoying the difference from my VFR.
Hope to enjoy the site.
Cheers,
Paul
