I did a similar thing as a kid. As I was going along the High Street I noticed something stuck in the front spokes and thought I'd kick it out with my foot. Seems I did nearly a complete somersault before hitting the ground. The forks were bent so far back they looked as if they had been fitted back to front.
 
Good job that last cyclist wasn't being tail-gated by a car or truck. ;)
