Holts Tyreweld - any user experience on here?

I've been paying £5 a month for a get-me-home add-on on my bike insurance, and I'm wondering if I'm wasting my money. Most things I can fix at the side of the road (like rear brake calliper fires - see previous post!) but I can't be Rsed to mend punctures. I wondered if anyone had experience of Holts Tyreweld in tubeless bike tyres?

I have used Tyreweld once before and it worked a treat so I now carry a can with me all the time. The puncture I got was with a small screw in the middle of the rear tyre on my Tiger. Used the tyreweld as per instructions and it held up for 3000 miles until I had to fit new tyre due to wear. I have no idea if it would work on a large hole, but for nails/screws it is good in my opinion.

Galloway forest last year, a chap riding a Transalp 650, with tubed tyres, got a puncture. Borrowed a can of Holts tyreweld, and it got him back to the camp site and then, the following day, back home.

A lot depends on the hole your trying to "fix"

Wire wheels but with stopped-up holes, and tubeless Pirelli Scorpion trails.

Interesting, do they hold pressure ok?

No! Rear's OK but the front looses about 2psi a week. I was thinking of using slime but on another forum people say that it never sets and as soon as you stop for more than an hour it forms a lump at the bottom and the balance is all to hell for the next 30 miles.
