Idiot drivers

Here's a video from the operators of the LUAS (the tram system in Dublin) that shows that even after 9 years in service drivers in Dublin still don't understand the concept of stopping at the red light to allow trams to progress.

To busy chatting on their phones, maybe?

I actually witnessed such an incident back in 2006 right outside Heuston Railway Station. A coach driver (for the state owned CIE) decided that he had priority through the red light and took the nose off a Luas Tram. I wonder if he kept his job?

Hmm, bit low on actual impacts. The movie might've had a bit more, err, impact if they'd shown just one second more of each clip.

Other than that, jeeze, some people...

In other news, I've just pulled an artic over. His side door was flapping open in the breeze. Nice guillotine. Chap went quite red, cursed himself and didn't know how quick to get out and rectify that little mishap. :)

Yes, it could have been more graphic - and should have been. There's way too much pussy-footing about here in Ireland at the moment. Even the video says "may be prosecuted" when it should be "WILL be prosecuted".

Good for you informing the truck driver about his loose door.

Yesterday I nearly got taken out by some Rsole farmer boy: I was returning from J&S at Oakmere with a nice new Frank Thomas leather jacket, along the Cheshire back lanes as the M6 was blocked by a lorry fire (must be the same lorry as the M6 has been blocked for a 'lorry fire' every day this week). I was just getting past a scaffold lorry unloading which was half blocking the country lane, when this mouth-breather at the wheel of a Myitchypussy Shogun towing a pig pen came right out round the parked truck, on his mob, driving one handed and oblivious to everyone else. I missed the trailer by inches by going well up the grass bank.
