I'm selling my beloved Land Rover Defender 110 12/24v FFR Hard Top 1986.

I've owned it since it's release back in 1998 (16yrs) from the RAF. It is a 51 Squadron RAF Regt veteran and served in the 1st Gulf War. It's had all it's brakes replaced back in 2002 with genuine Land Rover parts including the front calipers (£300+ each), back plates, hoses etc. It's also had a new fuel tank (again genuine Land Rover) and cam belt (dealer fitted). It's also had the steering done by Land Rover and drives straight as a dye. It's got brand new (correct service type) Michelin XZY's (I think) fitted. There is no rust anywhere and it's never had any welding done on it.

It's an FFR (Fitted for Radio) vehicle and still has the 24v 90 amp Generator fitted, (although I've removed the drive belt) and the radio table. She drives well but needs a new battery (I will replace this as part of the sale) and the gearbox leaks a bit of oil, but it is a Land Rover! :) Apart from those few niggles it's been 100% totally reliable and is an excellent example. Like Africa Twins, the prices of these are going up as there are less and less decent ones left.

I've serviced it myself over the years and have kept all the receipts, old MOT's and Tax discs etc. I've also got it's service history. All it's been used for is Military Vehicle Shows and Steam Rallys and has NOT been used off road in my ownership.

Reason I'm selling:
Well I've owned it now for 16 years and love it to bits. It holds many memories as I was still in the Army when I bought it. It's done a lot of Military Vehicle Shows and Steam Rallys over the years but the last three years has seen it hardly turn a wheel. I think I've only done a few hundred miles in it each year between MOT's and it's just not getting the use it needs as I've turned my attention to more Bike related stuff. I've been doing the shows for 25 years now and have decided to do something else (more bike events and travelling) so it needs to go unfortunately.

It's Taxed until November and MOT'd until May 2015. I'm asking £5,000 ono for it. Which seems to be mid range compared to what others are going for and reflects it's excellent condition . See here for other examples. http://www.milweb.net/classifieds.php?type=14

Please PM me if you are interested. I can take you out in it if you want to see it in action.

Cheers

Nice one I'm sure it'll sell pretty soon mate.

Thanks mate, she really is a nice Landy. It took a lot of will power to advertise it, I'm particularly attached to it...
