Ah, I see it now - it's pressing the "passing" switch.

Yup, it was a funny one because we were discussing it with a few guys there, and how it's all put together meant that repositioning the switchgear would make indicating almost impossible. Dropping the clutch down meant you would be really reaching and it would be uncomfortable and annoying.
