180 kilos dry weight plus the ability to take pillion and luggage would be an achievement. All speculation at the moment though.

Well the authors of the MCN article "get it". RWB, twin round headlamps, gold rims etc. Let's hope Honda designers "get it" too.

Diagram suggests a pretty conventional design, mimicking the XRV of old except perhaps for the air box/ fuel tank configuration. Big oddity- diagram shows an unfaired bike . Maybe deliberate since Patent designs become public but they don't have to show unrelated components accurately, and the fairing could obscure the crucial elements

Yeah, maybe all the fairing, screen etc don't need to be in the Patent application. Hence why it looks odd!

The crazy arses on that page think the XLV's the new Africa twin! Damn, I hope not!
I like both the artists impressions out there just now, the one based on the retro look RD03 colour scheme on what looks like a Crosstourer with twin headlights looks like a nod at the old @T and floats my boat!
The other pic doing the rounds of the CR1000F also looks the biz and I feel a major dent in my bank account! Especially if they make them both! ;)

Well we know its coming now...just a case of what and when? Varadero (much as it is a good road bike and yes I have had one) was such a disapointment when it was revealed as an AT replacement. And price it right Mr Honda....Yamaha have finally learned with the mt07 not to be too greedy.

oy

the XLV is a great start and a proper BIG trailie :cool2:

new one is not a V though :(

but I can see why they would opt for a forward leaning parrallel twin, as it get the COG low and forward and allows loads of design option around the sead/tank swing arm area.. 100bhp and under 200kg wet :idea-013:

the NSR was only 80bhp anf 180kg wet

positive thiing s that somthing is happening

No disrespect to the XLV Ray, they could do worse than copy the shaft drive TBH.

It's all gone a bit quiet in the Honda camp, I would have thought they would be leaking snippets like Triumph did with the new Tiger to whet people's appetites.

Never mind, I'm putting my old one in for its MOT next week so I'll soon be out and about on an @T again! Woo hoo!

I think what most folk want is the NXR spec:- 100bhp under 200kg wet ..

rattle canned the marthon rear, so will get that on the road soon , ( not great looks like its been through the desert :) , colour matching the white was a pain as the original was too white compared to the 24yrar old paint job, and this is not a full resto pristine project, but Honda polar white, has the correct yellow tinge... looks good from a distance... itching to ride the RD04 motor , been on the 03 long enough :)

Aye, was on the CR1000F facebook page weeks ago, been very quiet since though.

It's pretty ominous, the lack of leaked pics, no rumours, just sit tight until Oct for the Intermot show, if Honda doesn't "show" then my money will be going elsewhere next spring.
