Replacement brake disc BMW F650ST

Some technical advice please - MOT advisory yesterday suggesting I replace the front disc on my 1997 BMW F650ST, sharpish. The choice is BMW £188 (lol!) Brembo £108 (which is actually the BMW OE disc) PFM cast iron £84 or Armstrong wavy disc at £82. My questions

1/ does the Armstrong, which has more holes than a pair of Nottingham lace knickers, actually work?

2/ what about the PFM cast iron disc?

3/ or should I just stump up for the Brembo and go to bed happy?

Answers on a postcard . . . . . any help much appreciated.

Nigel

PS F650 Forum is absolutely no help on this whatsoever as its absolutely stuffed with armchair generals

Personal experience of Brembo are very good. Ran a pair of these on the Exup, could quite easily out brake a mate RSV and the FZR was a heavy old bird.

The BMW one may well be a brembo one anyway. The ones on my 1200 are. Cast iron disks tend to be better at dissipating the heat but I don't think that will be a consideration on a F650 and beside they rust much faster than steel disks.

Hi Boris, yes Brembo is the BMW OE disc but see the price difference in my first post - its all in the name! I will probably go for the Motorworks Brembo disc, but I am going to visit the BMW dealer in Church Stretton on Thursday who specialises in older F65O's and see what they recommend or if they've got a good condition secondhand one.
