They've only gone and done it!

Never mind orbiting a comet way out in the depths of space, but Philae has been confirmed as having landed successfully.

Amazing! :respect:

just been watching it live,

incredible achievement.

can't wait to seeing some images :)

Hmm, there might be a problem with the harpoons that should hold Philae to the surface.

We'll have to wait and see.

fingers crossed that it stays put or they can find a way to fire the harpoons

not so sure I agree with the man from NASA though when he said the solar system belonged to us

the solar system isn't ours and we shouldn't go out there and take it, we should explore it and learn from it but never claim ownership

I agree completely.

Hmm I have been thin king all day is this just some scientists on a freeload trip , 300,000,000 miles away , no one is gonna nip out on their bike tonight for blast to see iof they are telling the truth are they ,

Yes deffo not take it

Apparently, Philae has managed to screw itself down to the surface. So maybe the harpoon problem may not be such a hitch after all.

Where's the photos?

And we've never heard that on here before, have we?

Umm, why not? Who else would claim ownership?. My view is that the whole universe is ours to claim. Once we work out interstellar space travel.

Stunning achievement by the way. Magic and the dark arts must be involved as I just can't imagine how difficult it must be.

Sent from my iPhone with a smile :)
