Well used and not without its problems but you may be interested in my Cardo Scala G4 powerset

This consists of Two complete headsets with boom mikes and all fixtures and fittings to attach to helmets, two chargers, one set of instructions and one coily 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable.

You need read up on the Cardo website about these devices (no longer available though - review on Weblike world http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-intercoms/cardo-scala-rider-g4/review.htm http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle- ... review.htm) but they offer multi-functionality in a bikers communication device including rider to pillion or other rider - good for about 1mile in open country, less in town, trees or undulating ground, bluetooth connectivity to phones/GPS/MP3 players etc, FM radio, and more that I can't remember. Other features include: on the fly volume control, VOX (voice activation) which also means background noise is suppressed; and AGC (auto gain control) which means volume goes up as background noise goes up, A2DP control for stereo devices (on/off, next track, fast forward etc). The whole set up and most of the features are configurable via an interface downloadable from the cardo website or via a complex series of button presses on the devices. When they work they are wonderful devices.

But as I said they have not been without their problems. This has mainly been that voice activation of the intercom is really difficult to set up: its either too sensitive and wind noise intrudes, or your voice no matter how loud you shout will not trigger the intercom. This meant we just left the intercom open the whole time - battery life 10-12hours like this. The other (related?) problem is that sometimes the AGC wouldn't kick properly on one or other helmet meaning one of you could hear the other fine but they couldn't hear you. It was ok at low speeds (town speeds) but when in-helmet noise increased the AGC should increase the volume in the speakers but when it didn't you couldn't hear anything. Strangely it always worked fine for music or phone, just not so well through the mikes. The radio is pretty crappy really too with poor reception except where the signal is very strong.

On the upside the devices always pair to each other every time and also to anything else that is paired by bluetooth. I used my iPhone for music and calls and it always worked fine. You can also connect music via a cable but you lose the A2DP facility.

I have contacted Cardo support several times over the intercom issues and always got the same advice: update software (done); re-set the devices and re-pair the devices (done); clean the connections (done). This as often as not clears the problem for a few hours or a few days but it always returns. New headsets may help as to me the problem points towards the mikes, which are probably the most vulnerable and most exposed part in the headset.

Anyway I am selling as someone else may get some use from them either just to pair to music or to live with the intermittent intercom problem (I couldn't, it drove me insane), but when they work they really a brilliant bit of kit.

£90 posted. I will split if there are two people interested in one device each.
