Suzuki demo days

With Suzuki carting their fleet of demo bikes to various biker cafes & Sundays weather looking more settled, I thought it was an oportunity to take advantage of their generosity, so with bike demos booked, I trundled my way over to Squires

First up:
650 Burgman, shrouded in acres of whhite plastic & complete with electric screen and folding wing mirrors at the touch of a button & twist & go automatic or sequential box!
Once you adjust to the different seating position, no gears/clutch & rear brake lever in leu of a clutch, these things are quite a hoot & deceptively quick, although the suspension does start to tie itself in knots when pressing on...

Nest up dl1000 vstrom, grown up brother to my 650, but with more charismatic engine & instant grunt, lots & lots of grunt, good on fuel too if the display is to be believed :)

Did Phil find a bike he really, really liked and didn't want to give it back? ;)

No, there were no Transalps there ;)
Although the GSXf1000 was quite a weapon, albeit a potentially licence losing one!

So, are we meant to infer that the DL650 is not a replacement for a Transalp?

Certainly not John, like I say, ever touch the stuff :)

The other bikes they allowed my grubby mits on were the new sv650 & the GSXf1000 thing. What a beast that was, a proper comfy sportsbike with oh so easily licence losing potential ;)
