Well its new and shinny

After the national BMW offered me a deal on my 2010GSA I could not refuse.

My old bike had done 26tho been all over Europe, crossed rivers, mountains even wore snow chains, it had all the toys.

My new piece of German metal is another GSA but its water cooled, is 15bhp up from the old air cooled unit up to 125 bhp. It has a seat base of 35 inches just to keep short Yorkshire people off the masterclass, it weights 4 kgs more.
The bike has an integrated GPS system which links in to the bikes CPU showing you what the bike is doing, links blue tooth to the phone and on the web. All controlled by a control wheel on the left hand.

The bike is the TE version so it has do what its advertised for.

The bike has an integrated gear box and a multi plate clutch like a proper bike. Taking it slow off road the engine is very smooth and really balanced in berms, crossing sloppy ground and bouncing up steep slopes.

The michelins seam to be good on the grass no slips or slides. As bike has so much electronics I switched the riding mode to enduro and let the bike sort out the traction[emoji106] the throttle response is tuned down and the bike finds the grip like a Welsh mountain sheep.

I need to save for a bigger bash plate, crud catcher and some rad guards.

Tomorrow I will plug in the Full Enduro chip into the bike. This chip disabled some road riding safety functions and gives me more options on the control screen. And unleashes Def com 1. More to follow.

+15 bhp, needed them to keep up with Sharrie? :D

Have/hate to admit, the look of those adventure kettles is starting to grow on me. Though way too bloody expensive and complicated...

Nice machine J, the new and shiny bit did not last long. ;) I am sure you will enjoy getting it used to the Welsh countryside. :)

Nice shot near Neaudd J. I took one out earlier in the year and really liked it. Dont tell Sharrie but I think I liked it more than a Multistrada I tried! Not had a go on a KTM yet though and of course the forever coming new AT! It felt nicely balanced and much lighter than the 1150 I had.

I don't gel with these Anakkee 3 's Have them on the beemer, not getting into them at all.
Prefer the Me 's on the Africa Twin to the Michelin, but good on you for stonking it up a track. :respect:

I was sceptical about the Anakkee 3 but after nearly a thousand miles and a nice spirited ride around mid Wales, Worcester and Hereford they have not given me any moments of twitchy butt. At the moment they seem Ok as their new.

Today I went for a ride with Mikey.

We done some nice curves and roads in the beacons, Brynamman Rhigos and then the Bwlch mountain roads. BrilliAnt ride even if it started moist in Merthyr.

After seeing Mike off on his last blast as a free man. I had a bit of time ti play so I removed the seat and plugged in BMW's Defcon 1 chip into the bike. This chip remaps the enduro mode on the bike, switching off the ABS and modifies Traction control and I can lift the suspension up so high I just about put my toe down. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
Ok down the river over the rough opened the fat bird up and she goes air borne [emoji2][emoji2][emoji2][emoji2]
Hopefully I can catch Strata this year before it fills with water.
