For me I'll take the Suzuki DR350, easy to ride, simple to service, the only place you'd lose out is on the motorway and that wouldn't bother me as I don't like motorways. Yes, I have seen Mondo Enduro but no I wasn't influenced by that, I already had one :D

Difficult question to answer realy as the question is quite vague and ambiguous, Guess it depends if you want to adventure offroad or on road

I'm into the 11th year of ownership on my Varadero and thats the longest i have ever kept any bike so that says something for the bike. Father has a 1150gs which i ride from time to time and find that ok, far better and more planted than the 1200gs purely down to the bit of extra weight the 1150 carries.
I've tried the ktm990 adventure and it wasn't different enough from the varadero to justify the huge price to buy it as the Varadero was never going to be sold. My mate had a 955 Tiger some years back now and the amount of problems he had with that (mechanical and electrical) that i sorted for him put me off triumph for life it was very poor quality for a 3 year old bike. So none of that crop float my boat.

All the bike's i've given the most punishment to and had the most fun on have been pure offroad bikes not duel purpose bikes so i guess that kind of says what i like to do so some big heavy lump like the Vardero, GS, KTM adventure would never be part of the equation for a proper adventure as they are all unuseable.

That said since having the baby my riding miles have decreased quite a bit lately but there have been two bikes i have fancied for years now and i think at some point i will have to buy one of them to get it out of my system and they are the Honda CB1300 or the BMW k12 - 1300 r streetfighter model. However when not using the bike enough as it is could i justify having two bikes +1000cc sat in the garage doing nothing????
