XRV dot org dot UK subscription time...

Mine's up for renewal on Monday, I know that some here have left there as chan ops, and that the new owners there aren't the most popular hosts; I'm still a regular visitor there though, and feel like I sort of owe the 12 quid in lieu of all the help that I've gleaned from there...

As long as my subscription isn't paying for baby bunnies to be vivisected or shampooing kittens eyes I guess I'm fine with paying another year?

I'm not really a joiner-in-er in things in real life, I suppose that I'm quite unsociable in a friendly way, I guess? But if my humble donation keeps the site going as a resource that's helped me out no end, then I'm more than happy to go with it.

Are you guys here keeping your subscriptions?

I've never subscribed to the site, but then I've not been on there too long. I don't believe in subscribing to internet forums anyway. If you go on a forum everyday and contribute to the site through helpful posts and imparting information then you are making a positive contribution to the site, why should you pay to do that?

As Mervin says, you get the same benefits whether you subscribe or not.

I didn't renew because they ignored it every time I raised a question regarding whether MAG affiliation would be maintained.

Do yourself a favour and do something positive with your subscription. Join MAG instead. Far more constructive.

They are selling ad space on the back of content we all wrote and giving nothing back. F**K 'em.

Seems like a good answer to your question. This forum is provided free of charge out of goodwill, but there are costs attached to its operation and I'm sure a donation would help. I for one won't be paying further subs to XRV.

Ok y'all talked me into it ;)

XRV obviously feed the hosting fees via adverts, not that I have a problem with that; and I buy ABR's mag most bi-months so jog on there :)

Mostly I like to bounce around bike fora and have a read / look, I'm (relatively) inoffensive and, being a bit traditional, like to pay my way

Umm, my Paypal is saying a 9 quid payment for the other day, I think it's for a sub to here? I meant to up the counter from the default tenner to 12 quid, thought I had?

If it is for here, I didn't mean to look like a cheapskate!

I subscribed to xrv 'till Dave left. following that I could find zero incentive to subscribe.

No! "tight git" has nothing to do with it...lol

Come the end of season & I have more time to fool about on ze interweb I'll spend some more time annoying you lot on here & if you're all very nice I have no doubt that i'll be able to find some spare change to make a donation to keep the back room boys (or girls...) in chocolate hobnobs for a week or two.

can you send hobnobs by paypal? :idea-013:
